Moderate rise in rents expected in 2012

Landlords should expect to see rents rise moderately in 2012, according to predictions from Belvoir Lettings.

Managing director Dorian Gonsalves predicted that there will be large fluctuations in income across regions, with the south-east expected to benefit from high prices in London pushing people out of the capital into the home counties.

Elsewhere, he predicted “relatively stable rents”, with increases that were “very modest”, perhaps leading landlords to reduce their outgoings in other fields, such as their landlords insurance.

Rowe to become managing director of independent’s corporate business

Ex-Powerplace sales and marketing director Darren Rowe has re-emerged as the managing director of Perkins Slade’s corporate business.

Rowe, who was in charge of Powerplace’s 40-strong UK wide sales team until his December exit from the Towergate-owned business, will have board responsibility for Perkins Slade’s corporate and credit divisions.

WV Trying to Lower Deer/ Vehicle Collisions

West Virginia is a state that often has a problem with drivers hitting animals such as deer and moose. During the winter months, it gets dark much earlier which is why these collisions often occur. One reason behind the number of accidents is that deer and other wildlife have limited habitats and find it hard to find food. They often wander into the road and are afraid of headlights so they often freeze and drivers who are unaware of their presence often end up hitting the animals and killing them.

 

This can cause a lot of damage to the vehicle, especially the front end which takes the brunt of the overall impact.
